Colonialismo Americano

demonstrate how things are, not with other personal interpretations of what happened at the beginning of the second half of 1500, but based directly on the bull of Pope Paul III excommunicated publicly slaveholders.

After the discovery of America, and began again the issue of slavery, a problem erased from history with the advent of Christianity ( see here). Http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veritas_Ipsa

The June 2, 1537 Pope Paul III issued the memorable Bull "Sublimis Deus (or" Veritatis Ipsa "), with which sweeps away all appetites on the populations of New World slavery, proclaiming that "these appointments veros Indians." (see here )

fact to justify their enslavement and looting their property, it invokes the idea that they were savages, not real human beings and he brought as evidence the fact that they had the Christian faith.

The pope responds by defining the carriers of these powerful interests even "abettor of Satan, eager to satisfy their greed, and force the western and southern Indians and other peoples, that they have acquired in recent times, to serve as if they were dumb animals, under the pretext that they are not authentic. By apostolic authority and through this paper we determine and declare that the said Indians, and all other peoples in the future will be discovered by Christians, even if they are Christians, can not be deprived of liberty and property of their domain, and that it is lawful for them enjoy their freedom and their property and to acquire, or which should be reduced to slavery. If something will be done in reverse declare null and void to that faith in Christ ".
(Pope Paul II, Sublimis Deus, 1537)

Despite the ban to reduce the indigenous slavery was repeated Gregory XIV (Cum Sicuti, 1591), by Urban VIII (Commissum Nobis, 1639), da Benedetto XIV (Immensa Pastorum, 1741) e da Gregorio XVI (In Supremo, 1839) , nel corso dei secoli purtroppo le turpitudini si continueranno a perpetrare e anche alcuni uomini di Chiesa assumeranno (distaccandosi da essa) atteggiamenti e posizioni opposti a questo pronunciamento solenne del magistero, tuttavia questo sarà fatto in contrapposizione all’insegnamento del Vangelo e dell’autorità ecclesiale .

Conclusione:
Anche questa volta, perciò, non sono fondate le accuse alla Chiesa, ma semmai vanno giudicati quegli uomini ( Nietzsche in primis), che hanno sostenuto la schiavitù (vedi qui: Nietzsche e schiavitù ) and those Christians who, breaking away from the teaching of the Church, have betrayed the Christian
